About Candid

Built from inside the community.

Candid is a voice AI platform for long-term care operators that helps teams manage important conversations at scale, screening applicants, following up with new hires, surveying residents and families, checking in with staff, answering common questions, and routing requests to the right team.

Our story

From MemoMate to Candid.

Candid started as MemoMate, a biography product built to capture the life stories of older adults. To validate the idea, our founder, Raphael Rubens, moved into a senior living community to better understand how this technology could support residents and improve their well-being.

The results were promising, but the experience also revealed a larger operational challenge. Communities were struggling to keep up with hundreds of important conversations across residents, families, staff, and associates. That insight led us to expand from biographies into resident, family, and employee satisfaction surveys, and another issue became clear: staffing shortages were one of the biggest drivers of operational pressure, and directly affected the quality of care.

Today, Candid supports the conversations that matter most in long-term care: interviewing and screening candidates, following up with new hires, monitoring resident and family satisfaction, collecting staff feedback, answering common questions, and routing issues before they get missed. The product has evolved, but the mission has stayed the same: make sure no important voice goes unheard, whether it comes from a resident, family member, associate, or applicant.

“We didn't want to study senior living from the outside. We wanted to live the work, then build for it.”

What we believe

The principles behind every conversation.

AI should remove busywork, not human judgment.

Candid handles the repetitive parts of hiring and care communication, so your team can focus on the moments that actually require a person.

Built from the inside out.

Our founder didn’t build Candid from a boardroom. He spent two months living inside a senior living community to understand the work firsthand. That experience is baked into every product decision we make.

Every conversation becomes something your team can act on.

Whether it’s a candidate interview, a resident satisfaction survey, or a family check-in, nothing gets lost in a spreadsheet or forgotten after a shift change. Candid turns every interaction into a clear, structured insight your team can actually use.
